What oråke does
Your business runs on an application. The people who built it have moved on, or no longer have time to look after it.
We take it over: we scope it, we keep it alive, and we rebuild it when that becomes the cheaper option. That is the three-step takeover: scope, stabilize, rebuild. It always starts with a health check.
Is your technical team still there, but absorbed by new projects and day-to-day requests? We work alongside them, without replacing anyone: we take the existing tools off their plate, document them, and hand them back in good order.

oråke has senior developers based in Liège. We work with SMEs and freelancers anywhere in Belgium, in French and English.
Taking over software written by someone else takes experience: you have to read code that nobody explains any more, understand what holds it together, and decide what to touch first. It is not work you hand to juniors. That is why we are a small team of seniors.
Why takeovers?
The work has never really varied: it is the same situation, in different technologies.
A tool built five to fifteen years ago that the business depends on every day. The people who wrote it no longer have time for it, or are no longer there: an in-house team absorbed by new projects, a freelance developer who moved on, an IT services firm that dropped the account. And nobody can say what happens if it stops on Monday.
A PHP or Java web application, a framework nobody maintains any more, a mobile app: the technology changes, the situation stays the same. And, more and more, applications produced quickly with AI that nobody understands any more. So we made it our job: legacy application takeover.

We listen first and price afterwards. Before any proposal, we check that we have properly understood your tool and what it costs you.

A fixed price for each step, announced before we start. No meter ticking away.

Two health checks a month
No more. Each one takes two weeks, and we would rather do two properly than promise ten.

Documentation with every fix
Every fix comes with its documentation. If someone else takes the tool over one day, they will not start from scratch.

Web applications, APIs and mobile apps: we take them over, or rebuild them when that becomes the cheaper option. For mobile, we first check whether a responsive site would do.

A few simple practices already make a significant difference. The health check measures your exposure, and security updates are part of the availability guarantee.

Hosting brought back under control, and automated, tested deployments: in the cloud, hybrid or on-premises.
