What this website does with your data, and what it does not do.

In short

  • No tracking cookies, no advertising. Cookie-free visitor statistics, on our own server.
  • The self‑assessment calculates your score in your browser, then sends us your answers, without your name or address. If you ask for the detailed result by e‑mail, your address is only used to send it to you: no newsletter.
  • We do not sell or rent out your data.
  • You can ask us at any time to show, correct or erase your data.

Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller is oråke SRL, registered office Rue Etoile Badin 42, B-4920 Aywaille, Belgium (company and VAT number BE1005520707). For any question about your data, write to us at hello@orake.be.

The self‑assessment

Your score is calculated in your browser. When it appears, your answers, your score, the language of the page and the date are sent to us, without your name or e‑mail address. Nothing is stored in your browser.

After the score, you can ask for the detailed result by e‑mail. If you do, we process your e‑mail address, your first name if you give it, your answers, your score, the language of the page and the date of your request. The form sends them to us directly, through our website: they reach our request-handling tool, installed on our own servers.

  • Why: your answers alone help us improve the test and understand our visitors' situations; your address, if you give it, is only used to send you the detailed result. We do not add you to any list and we send no newsletter.
  • Legal basis: for the answers, our legitimate interest in improving the test (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), which you can object to; for the detailed result, your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • How long: at most three years after our last contact. If we start working together, this data is kept like our other exchanges (see below).

Your messages and appointments

When you write to us, we use your e‑mail address and your message to reply and, if you ask us to, to prepare a proposal. Legal basis: your request and our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

The booking page, booking.orake.be, asks for what is needed to set up the call, such as your name, your e‑mail address and the time slot you choose. We use this information only to organise the call. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We keep these exchanges for at most three years after our last contact. If we work together, what concerns the contract and invoicing is kept for as long as the law requires.

While you browse

In your browser. The website keeps one thing there: the light or dark theme, if you choose it with the theme button. This choice is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage), never leaves your device and is used only to display the theme you chose. No tracking cookies, no advertising. The fonts come from our own server.

Visitor statistics. To know which pages are read and where visits come from, the website uses Umami, a statistics tool we host ourselves, on our server in the European Union. It sets no cookie and does not record your IP address: the address is only used, at the time of the visit, to work out the country and city and to compute an anonymous visit identifier that changes every month. Umami records the page viewed, the page you came from, the type of device, the browser, the language and a few actions: a click to book a call, on our e‑mail address or phone number, downloading our business card, sending the self‑assessment with its result category, never your answers or your address. We only look at overall statistics, and nothing is shared with any third party. We keep these statistics for 25 months, then they are deleted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The map. The map on the Contact page is loaded from OpenStreetMap's servers. As with any image loaded on the web, those servers receive your device's IP address and technical information about your browser; we receive nothing from that exchange. OpenStreetMap processes it under its own privacy policy. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing you where to find us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The anti-spam check. If you start filling in the self‑assessment's e‑mail form, the page loads Turnstile, Cloudflare's anti-spam check, from Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare receives your device's IP address and information about your browser to tell a person from a robot, with no advertising cookie. To confirm the result, our server then sends it the check token and your IP address. Cloudflare processes them under its Turnstile privacy policy. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the form against abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Server logs. Like any web server, ours records each request in a log: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser. These logs are used only for the security and proper running of the website, for example to spot and block abuse. We keep them for a few weeks at most, then they are deleted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who else has access?

Nobody buys your data: we do not sell or rent it out. Only our technical processors have access to it, for the work they do for us and on our instructions: our web host, our e‑mail provider and the service that runs the booking page.

We do not intend to transfer your data outside the European Economic Area, with two exceptions. The map: your browser contacts OpenStreetMap's servers directly, and the OpenStreetMap Foundation is based in the United Kingdom. The anti-spam check: Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States, and the safeguards for that transfer are described in its privacy policy.
